Historic Monuments

Pasym:

Neo-Gothic City Hall

The building was established in 1855 to replace the old one, burned in 1583. City Hall is modeled on the castle in Babelsberg. Built on a six axial rectangular, has twin projection which turns into the quadrilateral towers. The whole was crowned with battlements with small towers in the corners.

Evangelical Church of Augsburg Confession

The first church in the Pasym was built shortly after assuming the village Henrykowo. Because of the absence of evidence it is impossible to determine the date of its creation or location. Probably it was a wooden temple located in the vicinity of today’s evangelical church. In the year 1350 the cornerstone of a new church has been laid, and the construction was completed in 1391. The church was a defensive church. Since the Reformation (the beginning of the sixteenth century) it is a Lutheran Church. Interesting interior of the church related to the history of the city and its residents is one of the most valuable in the region. Elements of the equipment are: late mannerist altar constructed in 1673 (polychromed and gold-plated in 1714), the pulpit from 1680, the organ from 1705 - the work of the workshop of the master Josue Mosengela from Królewiec, and Gothic benches from the fifteenth century and mannerist benches from the seventeenth century.

Defensive wall

The medieval town founded on a rectangular was surrounded by defensive walls raised in the second half of the fifteenth century. Wall fragments survived near Kościuszki and Ogrodowa Street.

Catholic Chuch

Church dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. At the end of August 1863 Roman Catholic parish has been set up. The construction of the Catholic Church started in 1873 (17.09). The brick factory owner from Słonecznik, Langermann – Protestant, supplied the construction with brick for free. The foundation stones were given by hosts of both denominations from Pasym and the surrounding area. Langermann gave also the parcel to establish the cemetery. On July 22, 1876 Warmian Bishop Philipp Krementz, later Cardinal of Cologne, consecrated the newly built church. The rise of the church is an example of cooperation between Catholics and Protestants.

Water Tower

The tower was built with bricks in the years 1910-11. Given the form of the stalk wrapped in flower and were tipped with conical roof with little lamp on the top. To the tower was built an annex - a small building which housed the city bath house.

Grom:

Royal Village. Settlement kochówek. In the vicinity of the track there are two red brick buildings (1909), remains of old brick factory. Two-storey school made of red brick (XIX / XX century); Lutheran Cemetery.

Elganowo:

Manor house
(the oldest in the area – late-baroque manor, XVIII century); Founded on a rectangular, with the presentable staircase and living room, covered with mansard roof, is the only preserved example of Baroque architecture in the southern part of Masuria. The park surrounding it is preserved in a poor condition. Old farm buildings near the manor.
